I was born in Wellington, New Zealand, and came to England when I was a young girl. Art, Craft and Design have been a central part of my life, leading to a DATEC diploma in Fine Craftsmanship and Design, followed by a B.Ed. (Hons) in Craft, Design and Technology. I went on to become one of the first qualified women to teach CDT in the U.K.
With an eye for detail and love for the intricate, my passion is focussed on creating unique needle-felted animals and plants, which reflect the local wildlife, countryside and coastline surrounding my home in Dorset. Always individual, each sculpture is made from pure wool, carefully selected for colour and texture encapsulating a unique personality.
I set up my own business, Mice and Mole in November 2015 and have exhibited in Dorset Art Weeks 2016 & 2018 and at ‘The Gallery on the Wey’ in Upwey. I help organise and run the Dorset Artisan’s Marquee at the Dorset County Show and have a permanent display in the Cygnet Gallery, Shaftesbury and the Purbeck Artisan’s Yard in Wareham.
